Off Limits

Off Limits
McGriff and Albaby are probably doing the worst law enforcement job in the world - they are plain clothes U.S. military policemen on duty in war-time Saigon. However, their job becomes even harder when they start investigating the serial killings of local prostitutes. Their prime suspect is high ranking U.S. Army officer which brings their lives in danger.

Mean Vietnam-set crime thriller. Off Limits doesn't bother with much battlefield action opting instead for the moral rot beneath the surface of the U.S. military presence in Saigon. An early and forgotten role from Willem Dafoe where he's less unhinged. Him and Gregory Hines set a sort of buddy cop/detective style balancing cynical humor with growing frustration as their investigation gets messier and messier. Under them is a remarkable supporting cast of classic bad dudes to set the world of a war-torn city where justice is nearly impossible and survival is never guaranteed.
