Across the Universe
The music of The Beatles, New York in the 1960s, and the American youth's actions to protest the Vietnam War, form the backdrop for the romance between an upper-class American girl and a poor Liverpudlian artist.

I didn't know what to expect when I saw this movie, but I definitely got more than I bargained for. If you're a Beatles fan then the music will be spot on, and the way they adapt it to real living situations is just magical. The way they try to blend together a few narratives into a braid of drama is just brilliant. I often find myself putting this on in the background for both its aural and visual aesthetics.
