Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park
A wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening day, he invites a team of experts and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park and help calm anxious investors. However, the park is anything but amusing as the security systems go off-line and the dinosaurs escape.

“god help us; we’re in the hands of engineers.”
one of the few instances where the book and its film adaptation are vastly different, yet both are masterpieces in their own right. i cry every time i watch this film— it’s probably one of the most important and fundamental films of my life; it’s influenced so much of my taste and personality and philosophical outlook on the world. there’s nothing i can say that hasn’t already been said before about this film, but its warning about the hubris and the lack of ethics and morality that come from science backed by corporate greed feels more prescient than ever.
