Talk to Me
When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and opens the door to the spirit world forcing them to choose who to trust: the dead or the living.

Ooooh, really loved this. From the genuinely chilling opening to the really solid ending. Excellent performance from Sophie Wilde and really the entire cast. Miranda Otto as Jade and Riley’s mom was perfection in how she attempted to suss out whether her kids were planning a party while she was out. The film builds some really interesting lore around the seance / possession, but also infuses some uncertainty into exactly how it all works, effectively keeping the audience guessing until the end. There are a few gruesome moments efficaciously spread throughout the runtime. I live for a good scissors kill, too. Can’t say enough good things about this. Hope there’s more to come from Danny and Michael Philippou. Easily the best Regal Monday Mystery Movie to date — it’s not every week we’re treated to an A24 horror feature though.
