Outside
Amidst a barren world void of human life, one man confronts his past in search of closure.

Filipino Zombie apocalypse flick. Pardon my 🇵🇭 bias, but I liked quite a bit of this. Has some pretty gruesome effects, particularly one in the opening moments of the film that look really great. This gets mired down in some heavy heavy melodrama. Cheating spouses, illegitimate children, bickering, childhood trauma and abuse, more bickering. Goodness. The film definitely drags as a result and you really feel the nearly 2.5 hr runtime. (Why are we still doing this?) This has a f🤩king chaotic last act, though—Some wild conclusions to the melodramatic storylines. They really included a 🦮🍽️ moment too. I’m gonna catch some strays thanks to that bit. (Maybe I shouldn’t have phrased it like that.) Worth checking out if you’re into Zombie flicks and/or supporting Filipino cinema.
