After stealing a mysterious orb in the far reaches of outer space, Peter Quill from Earth is now the main target of a manhunt led by the villain known as Ronan the Accuser. To help fight Ronan and his team and save the galaxy from his power, Quill creates a team of space heroes known as the "Guardians of the Galaxy" to save the galaxy.

Compared to other Marvel movies at the time, I thought this was just ok. The rag tag team concept is leaned into so hard that it genuinely didn’t feel like the characters had any chemistry, and the villain being one dimensional and uninteresting doesn’t help. There are enough hijinx and big budget action to make sure it isn’t necessarily bad, but for this stage of MCU it is in the bottom half.
