A quite off beat episode, but very much an episode in and of itself. Nice and self contained. This reminded me more of old TNG episodes that would do weird off beat shows. They weren't always the best, but they gave an interesting look into the crew's dynamics, this on the other hand sort of broke canon to try to tell a story about 2 people from the crew. While yes, people can meet someone and fall in love quickly, it does seem rather odd the way this whole episode plays out. All that said, can I just say Peck does a wonderful job at playing Spock. I think Nimoy would be very happy with him and his respect and reverance to the storied history of Spock.
