Two sisters move to the country with their father in order to be closer to their hospitalized mother, and discover the surrounding trees are inhabited by Totoros, magical spirits of the forest. When the youngest runs away from home, the older sister seeks help from the spirits to find her.

I want a stuffed Totoro like right now!
This animation is gorgeous and timeless. The characters beyond adorable and the story touching. Is it real or is it fake?! All that really matters is that it helps the girls get through the tough situation they are in with their mothers health. It is slow but I think that is the point. It takes its time and let’s you enjoy the kids being kids. The score is great too. I think I can see myself rewatching this a few more times.
