Inept and manic English hotel owner and manager, Basil Fawlty, isn't cut out for his job. He's intolerant, rude and paranoid. All hell frequently breaks loose as Basil tries to run the hotel, constantly under verbal attack (and sometime physical) from his unhelpful wife Sybil, and hindered by the incompetent, but easy target, Manuel, their Spanish waiter.

After watching the German language version for years I had to get the original, and boy, I wasn't disappointed at all.
Just for the failed conversations between Basil and Manuel are worth watching the English original, as the translation is impossible to get all the fun (on those trays -> on, dos, tres is probably impossible to translate into any other language with keeping it's original fun).
Poor Basil is always the loser, even when he looks like a winner, he will always get his butt kicked.
Oh, and don't mention the war...
