Lucious, the founder and CEO of a successful record label, has been diagnosed with ALS. He must choose one of his three sons to take over the company when he dies. Meanwhile, his ex-wife and co-founder Cookie has been released from prison and wants to reclaim her rightful place in the company.
I don’t care what ANYONE says, this is one of my favorite shows EVER! I’m not saying it’s always necessarily well-written or believable in any sense but it’s entertaining and that’s what counts FOR MEEEEE!!
I’ve rewatched this entire series at least 4 or 5 times (am I the drama? Do I like mess?), and I think it helps if you view it like a soap opera. The storylines are messy and complicated and everything is SO over-the-top, but it works! Even Demi Moore coming in as a deranged nurse that falls in love with an amnesiac Lucious so hard that she kidnaps him and tries to kill Cookie?! THIS IS PEAK TELEVISION IDC!
I don’t even care that the series didn’t even end the way it was intended. Apparently either Lucious or Cookie were going to die, but filming had to be adjusted due to COVID so the entire ending changed and everyone lived. The villains won and I.. am cackling 😂
