From Dusk Till Dawn

From Dusk Till Dawn
The Gecko brothers, two dangerous outlaws on a wild crime spree, kidnap a father and his two kids and head south to a seedy Mexican bar to hide out in safety. Soon they realize that they're not in a typical bar, as the entire place begins to teem with vicious, blood-sucking vampires. With the odds stacked greatly against them, the Geckos are forced to team up with their hostages in order to make it out alive.

From Dusk till Dawn is quite a movie. Blink at the right moment and you’d be forgiven for thinking someone switched the film entirely. George Clooney plays a role very different from anything he’d done before—a cold-blooded bank robber—yet he’s almost restrained compared to his psychotic, murderous, rapist brother played by Quentin Tarantino. If the story had stayed focused on these two fugitives, it would already be a violent and compelling crime tale. Instead, it takes a shocking turn down a path no one sees coming. Strong performances from Harvey Keitel and Juliette Lewis anchor the chaos, while fans of blaxploitation will enjoy Fred Williamson’s appearance alongside special-effects legend Tom Savini. All in all, From Dusk till Dawn is an action-packed ride, and if a fusion of crime and horror is your thing, it won’t disappoint.
