For best friends Becky and Hunter, life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. But after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now Becky and Hunter’s expert climbing skills will be put to the ultimate test as they desperately fight to survive the elements, a lack of supplies, and vertigo-inducing heights
What stands out in Fall is absolutely the cinematography and some of the incredible looking shots that were captured. The imagery works incredibly well to heighten that tension. The stakes are made very clear. You fall, you die.
The characters, however, are almost insufferable. I mean, I get it. You have to be able to believe that two people would be stupid enough to attempt this feat and clout-chasing social media influencer might be the only thing that fits the bill. Ignoring the character work, though, I think this film delivers on exactly what it sets out to achieve. IF, you were at all interested in seeing this, it’s probably better enjoyed on the big screen. (This could have been really cool in IMAX, but that probably would have quadrupled the budget). Funny how right now you could do a double feature of Beast and Fall — or Beastfall, the “completely frustrating characters that should listen to their f*#%ing dads, but it’s still worth seeing in theaters because of the gorgeous cinematography” cinematic universe…..or something.
