A second-class horror movie has to be shown at Cannes Film Festival, but, before each screening, the projectionist is killed by a mysterious fellow, with hammer and sickle, just as it happens in the film to be shown.
A farcical spoof comedy that definitely gave me a number a good laughs. But for every joke that works, there was probably 2 or 3 (maybe 4) that really didn’t.  Humor doesn’t always have a 1-1 translation across cultures and languages. I could tell that some of the jokes were lost in translation when reading the subtitles. Add in that this film is nearly 30 years old, and inevitably some of the humor feels very dates.  The things that were in there for sheer randomness, for example, just didn’t really seem funny. The Renault car commercial, the bit where the scores and dialogue cuts out two guys do the VO and sound effects, 🤷🏻‍♂️. Definitely gave me some Leslie Nielson Naked Gun and I think that was the intention. Just didn’t really work for me personally though. Bonus half star for the movie within the movie. Red Is Dead. That’s always a good movie trope, especially in slashers.
