This, my friends, is what a ‘Suicide Squad’ movie should be: bloody, brutal, with all the callousness and frank lack of regard for human or meta-human life while various parties all seek out a most powerful McGuffin.
There was very light use of Harley Quinn, we got a more fleshed-out Deadshot, a humanized “bad guy” you might even “root” for once you know his ‘holy’ motivation, and an Amanda Waller really worth hating/rooting against.
This series of animated films may be over, but they’re absolutely worth going back to time and again. This is absolutely one of them that deserves to be at the top of the list.
Also?
Christian Slater as ‘Deadshot?’ They should have kept that going. He did it well.
