Working as a sort of prequel to the original, or at least a prequel to the post-invasion, Day One is a solid standalone film in the now trilogy. While this seems to be more of a drama compared to the first two, it still contains a good amount of suspense. You also get to learn more about the creatures that attacked as well. This movie is bleak, but you should know that after seeing the first two. Acting is great from the lead, despite it being a “quiet” movie. Fans of the series should be happy with this film and I do hope they continue to explore this universe.
