Solid, if not slightly gross, remake for a modern audience. The movie definitely pushed some boundaries during the time of its release. There was definitely gore galore and amps up the inbred vibes from West Va. there is a level of disbelief needed as in so many of the moments- 99% of the population would have had serial killer radar going off and never even considered going as far as these 30 year old teens. The movie had a great deal going for it but the characters were nearly all unlikable. The one who is dies quick. The twist is not really a twist and is actually glossed over. That is really the downfall for this to be a great remake- it glosses over the story that it spends the first 10-15 minutes setting up as exposition. Sometimes- a good Scooby doo mystery along with the gore and murder will make something a better movie. Still- more hits than misses and I would recommend.
