Timestalker is one of those films that benefits from being seen with a late night festival crowd. It’s a silly, century-spanning romance featuring Alice Lowe yearning for the fleeting love of her past lives. The production looks great from all of the period costumes and gaudy wigs to the 80’s hair and leotards w/leggings. The soft focus haze gives it all a whimsical dream-like feeling which is very fitting. While I don’t think I would have enjoyed this as much watching alone in the comfort of my own home, I came away from this feeling like Alice Lowe is an absolute force. I’ll have to check out Prevenge and keep an eye out for her future projects.
