Wonderful use of Frida’s own words from letters and journals to narrate her own story. Paired with the colorful animation of paintings, it’s a vivid celebration of her life and work. In some ways, I like that it’s almost entirely archival material included here, but I wouldn’t have minded having some talking heads/art historians to fill in some of the gaps and provide a broader context to her work and less focus on her relationship with her husband Diego. Good doc, nonetheless.
