the first time i watched this, i turned it off about 80% the way through because the pacing was so slow and i was exhausted with getting NO answers at all. but something about the movie stuck with me, so i decided to go back and rewatch the entire thing.
i feel so silly. i turned it off just before things got really good. it’s very difficult to put the pieces together, but when you do, you realize the horrifying reality of what we’re actually watching, of what really happened in that house. and it’s shocking. i think the ending is perfect and completely confirms the dark reality that you realize.
this is 2025’s “Beau Is Afraid”. consider me a big fan of both
