Der böse Count Zarth Arn will die Macht über das Universum an sich reißen. Um dies zu verhindern entsendet der Emperor ein Aufklärungsschiff. Aber nachdem das Schiff einem Teilkräftefeld ausgesetzt wurde, gilt die Besatzung, unter ihnen auch der Sohn des Emperors, Simon, als verschollen. Die einzige Hoffnung des Emperors und des gesamten Weltalls ruht nun auf den Schultern der beiden Schmuggler Acton und Stella Star und dem ihnen zur Seite gestellten Polizeiroboter Elle. Doch bevor es zum finalen Kampf Gut gegen Böse kommen kann haben die Helden noch einige Abenteuer zu bestehen.

The story follows Stella Star (Caroline Munro), a glamorous space adventurer who gets pulled into a mission to stop an evil count bent on galactic domination. Along the way she teams up with a robot sidekick, a psychic alien, and even the Emperor himself—played with unexpected gravitas by Christopher Plummer.
Yes, the special effects are dated, the dialogue is cheesy, and the plot is over the top—but that’s what makes it so fun. It’s colorful, energetic, and unashamed of its pulp sensibilities. There’s a genuine sense of imagination that keeps it entertaining from start to finish. For fans of cult sci-fi, Starcrash is a treat worth revisiting.
