The Current War is an excellent example of missed potential. I truly belive there is a good film in here somewhere but it's been buried.
The casting is (in my opinion) very poor. Cumberbatch, Holland and Hoult feel incredibly out of place here and it cheapens the film, like it's relying on star power.
The film also feels overly clinical, this is often the case for films based upon historical events but steps can be taken to bring the audience along for a more emotional and engaging journey. The stick on moustaches and sideburns were TERRIBLE.
Michael Shannon was pretty good, It's always nice to see him in things.
Bluray was fine, audio and video was solid and unremarkable.
