The soft glow of autumnal Americana, Lady in White unfolds through the eyes of a young boy who survives a near-death encounter. It treats childhood trauma and memory with delicate sincerity. There’s something unique in the way the film blends the supernatural with very real horrors of racism, grief, and isolation. It’s not just about ghosts, but about the weight of the past, how it lingers, and how kids see what adults refuse to. This is more To Kill a Mockingbird than Poltergeist.
