Troy Maxson makes his living as a sanitation worker in 1950s Pittsburgh. Maxson once dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player, but was deemed too old when the major leagues began admitting black athletes. Bitter over his missed opportunity, Troy creates further tension in his family when he squashes his son's chance to meet a college football recruiter.

Fences is an extremely well acted film that feels like a play. I understand that this adaption of a play, the way the movie is shot though is stylized like that so worth noting. I found the story to be fascinating, Denzel's character causes the viewer to have very conflicting views. This is about a man struggling with his demons how those demons strangle and control those around him. This a good movie and deserves to be checked out.
