Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon
When Scooby and Mystery Inc. visit an off-road racing competition, it's not long before strange events start to occur. A mysterious phantom racer, known only as Inferno, is causing chaos and is determined to sabotage the race. It's up to Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and their new driving partner, The Undertaker, to save the race and solve the mystery.

I just watched Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon and I give it 3 out of 5 stars. This is one of those movies that is just fun and goofy from beginning to end. It is not amazing or super memorable, but if you are a fan of Scooby-Doo or WWE, or both, there is enough here to enjoy for a quick and silly watch.
The story follows Scooby and the gang teaming up with a bunch of WWE superstars to solve a mystery at a high stakes off road racing event. Right away, the concept is wild. You have monster trucks, creepy masked racers, and professional wrestlers all thrown into one storyline. It is ridiculous, but that is kind of the point.
The animation looks solid for a direct to video Scooby-Doo movie. The characters all look how they should, the racing scenes are actually pretty fun, and the creepy moments have that classic Scooby-Doo vibe. There are some cool monster designs and a few spooky chase scenes, but nothing that ever gets too intense. It sticks to the usual formula, just with more mud, engines, and wrestling moves.
The voice cast does a good job. Frank Welker voices Scooby and Fred like always and he brings that same energy you expect. The rest of the Mystery Inc. gang sounds right too. Matthew Lillard as Shaggy always delivers and has great chemistry with Scooby, especially during the more chaotic parts of the story.
Now when it comes to the WWE side of things, it is fun seeing familiar names like Triple H, The Undertaker, and Stephanie McMahon animated into this world. They are not just cameos either, they actually have a decent amount of screen time. It is pretty funny seeing these wrestlers dealing with ghosts and driving huge vehicles like it is no big deal. They all voice themselves, which adds to the fun, even if the acting can be kind of stiff at times.
The mystery is basic. You can kind of tell who the villain is early on if you have watched enough Scooby-Doo. It is not really about a big shocking twist, but more about the adventure along the way. There are some cool traps and clues, but it never goes too deep. The pacing is quick and it keeps the story moving without getting boring.
The reason I give it 3 out of 5 instead of something higher is because it just does not stand out much. It is fun while you are watching it, but it is not one of those Scooby-Doo movies that sticks with you afterward. The WWE crossover feels like a gimmick more than something that really adds to the story. It is not bad, but it feels like more could have been done with the concept.
Still, for what it is, it is fine. It delivers the kind of wacky crossover fun you would expect. Kids will enjoy the action and racing, and WWE fans will get a kick out of seeing their favorite wrestlers in cartoon form.
Overall Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon is a silly, fast paced mystery with monster trucks and wrestling legends all mixed into one strange adventure. It is not top tier Scooby-Doo, but it is entertaining enough if you are in the mood for something light and fun. I did not love it, but I still had a decent time watching it.
