A beautiful mermaid surfaces to a whole new world and discovers where her heart truly belongs. In this Disney recreation, Halle Bailey puts on a stunning performance that will inspire children in this new age. With many other great actors this movie lights up the morning sky with a fresh take on the classic children's tale, The Little Mermaid.
Ariel is a mermaid who lives under the sea with her other mermaid family and lots of different sea life. Her father King Triton has ruled over Atlantica and all merfolk ever since his father, Poseidon, gave him the throne. He sets his limits on Ariel knowing her curiosity could get her into a myriad of trouble. Of course she can't help but going to the surface still. There she finds something she never expected...
Javier Bardam and Halle Bailey play father, daughter with Melissa McCarthy as Aunt Ursula. Daveed Diggs takes on the role of Sebastian and makes it his own. Awkwafina gets to voice act for Scuttle and adds well appreciated comedy to the mix. Emotions fly high during the ups and fall during the lows, providing a fun ride through the world of Disney.
Altogether this musical provides fun entertainment for the whole family and nostalgia to most. Well crafted, something new that plays well within the Little Mermaid universe.
