The show boasts talented actors, but it lacks a compelling story or meaningful character development. Compared to other mobster films and series, it falls short.
The protagonist, Harry Da Souza, has a Portuguese name, which feels out of place for an English or Irish character typically seen in this setting. The plot doesn’t convincingly portray Britain’s organized crime scene, focusing solely on senseless killings. Doesn't explore the business side. The depiction of UK gangsters using grenades, automatic rifles, or car bombs is absurd and unrealistic. Given that it’s an MTV production, perhaps my expectations were too high. Better alternatives like: A Prophet, Eastern Promises, The Sopranos, and Snatch offer more engaging stories, better cinematography so I’ll stick to those instead.
if you're looking for a real gangster film, I highly recommend A Prophet.
