Given it was made nearly a century ago, and SO MUCH of its subject matter is relevant and still happening today, I give this movie/play five stars. It was outstanding if you keep the cultural changes and behaviors in perspective. Two things I noticed: When “Hildy” (Pat O’Brien) tells the other reporters he’s getting married, one of them asks, “White girl?” This was a common joke & response of the time, and it continued in my family decades after it had become rightfully frowned upon. The other—there are 8x10 photographs of nude females on the wall by the doorway of the press room. At the end of the movie you can’t miss them. I didn’t notice them earlier in the movie, they might have been there.
