I loved the original movie, and was very excited to see this sequel. We were disappointed. While it was an entertaining 90min, it was not a good movie. Even for Tim Burton, this movie was all over the place. A fever dream of semi related clips from multiple plot lines, loosely collected in some form of order.
The resolutions of each of the plots were sudden, and with no real foreshadowing leaving it feeling a bit lazy as if they just wanted to wrap up the stories and go home.
And, oh my god! No one liked MacArthur park that much to begin with! It felt like that song took upup the 2nd half of the movie
