"Members Club" delivers a wild ride, blending humor, horror, and a touch of heart in a way that's perfect for a Saturday night at FrightFest. The film embraces absurdity, with standout performances from Dean Kilbey as Alan, who grounds the chaos with a relatable character, and Perry Benson, who brings hilarity to the screen. The film doesn't shy away from the ridiculous, with scenes featuring a cheese-and-pineapple hedgehog, played by Alan Ford, and occult plotlines that are as bizarre as they are entertaining. I watched this at FrightFest as the late night Saturday film, the audience reaction was electric, making the screening feel like a party where everyone was in on the joke. While it may not be award-winning cinema, "Members Club" is a fun, unforgettable ride.
This film will be popular with people who like Shaun of the Dead (2004), Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010), The Full Monty (1997), and What We Do in the Shadows (2014), for their mix of horror, humor, and heartwarming character dynamics.
