A slice of life in almost documentary style about the end of a fictional civil war in the USA through the experience of four multigenerational journalists. The direction is in line with journalists' ethics, showing but not judging, commenting but not condemning, letting the reader or the viewer decide. It sheds light on the importance of impartial reporting that has been nearly lost in today’s biggest media corporations.
The reality of war, which is always messy and by definition brutal, is on full display here. Along with a very real and constantly present danger, war journalists are exposing themselves to. Still, they are always on the sidelines, trying to peek inside the war machine and its atrocities, trying to understand themselves and make sense of the chaos for the world far away.
