A visually stunning anime with top-tier animation and great fight scenes, The Eminence in Shadow delivers when it comes to style — but the story often feels scattered. The show leans heavily into parody, with a main character who trolls his own narrative and keeps even his allies in the dark. While that can be funny, it also makes the plot confusing and the side characters sadly underused.
If you’re in it for cool action and satire, it can be fun. But if you’re looking for strong storytelling or character growth, this one might miss the mark.
