So often sequels don't live up to their predecessor. This is usually even more the case when the sequel is years removed. However, this isn't just a sequel, it's an adaptation of a sequel. King perfected the follow up to his masterpiece The Shining and while this is no Kubrick film it does both the books and Kubrick's "The Shining" justice. Underrated film, Mike Flanagan and crew smack a grand slam!
