Beautifully animated, but suffers from the curse most Disney sequels suffer… it’s more than a little bit boring. The intended humorous elements fall flat most of the time (more chicken needed). And whereas the classic songs are ‘classics’ as they further the story and inject a little sparkle, I can’t help but feel that the vast majority of Moana’s songs wouldn’t look or sound out of place in a self help, motivational seminar… and who’s ever had fun and enjoyed one of those? Could easily be shrunk considerably in runtime and achieve the same, if not a more enjoyable, effect.
