M3GAN 2.0 was AWESOME! I'll preface this by saying I'm not a horror film person--I much prefer comedy--so this film was so unexpectedly awesome I would definitely go see it again!
My ONLY criticism was that Allison Williams (Gemma) could not act her way out of a paper bag. Think Gal Gadot (Kal El NO!). Ironically M3GAN did a better job at acting in this film and she's literally a robot with a monotone voice and almost no facial expressions. Yet she acted circles around Allison who always looked like she was about to laugh no matter how serious the circumstances were in the film.
But if you can look past the horrible acting from Allison (Violet too but she gets a pass as she's still a kid), this film is hilarious and awesome and super fun to watch. I was cracking up so much at various points in the film. I'm glad they took it this direction and embraced the fact that M3GAN is more funny than scary but she's also a badass at the same time. M3GAN 100% stole the show in this movie, and I hope they make another sequel!
