Wait, Pride Rock had a grotto back in the day?
As a film, this simultaneously impressed me and frustrated me. I hated the story framing device that was obviously only there to keep Timon and Pumba involved. But I also kind of get it because it doesn’t really feel like a Lion King film without them and they do provide some of the funnier moments in the film. The animation is still incredibly impressive and the animals do appear much more expressive this time around. It doesn’t really come together cohesively. The music was solid. The framing device really gives it the feel of those old straight to DVD Disney sequels we used to get. Overall, this is fine I suppose. Just not really something I needed or anything I’m really ever interested in watching again.
