In a dystopian spacefaring future, Naia, a female guitarist, and Parker, a female saxophonist, fall in love and form a successful band together. A sleazy music producer breaks them up. When his acts start dying, Parker must save Naia.
When I heard this movie had Claudia Black in it, I immediately put in my watchlist. A animated scifi romance film with Claudia Black? Sign me up! I spent forever trying to find a copy of this, but luckily enough it recently started streaming on Plex for free. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. While Claudia Black's acting is still great, and conveys a wide range of emotions throughout the movie, the animation (or lack thereof) and character designs leave a lot to be desired. The character designs are just so ugly to look at. Claudia Black's character, Parker C. Boyd, looks so uncanny throughout the entirety of the movie. Hell, in profile shots, she looks a lot like how my old artwork used to look, with her head being too big for her body. It doesn't help that this film decides to have closeups of all these ugly characters, making this film feel a lot longer than it really is. You'd have to pay really close attention to this thing if you're trying to discern plot, because a lot of time here is devoted to experimental imagery. Maybe if this was done in traditional 2D or 3D this film could've worked, but as is, it's just a massive disappointment.
