My Left Foot

My Left Foot
Christy Brown is born with cerebral palsy to a large, poor Irish family. His mother, Mrs. Brown, recognizes the intelligence and humanity in the lad everyone else regards as a vegetable. Eventually, Christy matures into a cantankerous artist who uses his dexterous left foot to write and paint.

The amazing story of an extraordinary man (Christy Brown), portrayed by a legendary actor (Daniel Day-Lewis). Oscar-winner DDL is incredible, while supporting cast members, Brenda Fricker, Ray McAnally, and Hugh O'Connor give award-winning performances of their own.
One man making the most of his gifts despite severe and heartbreaking disabilities is a lesson for us all. I will never look at my own personal struggles the same way again.
