“Conflict” stars John Wayne in a boxing melodrama built around a clear-cut moral dilemma. At its core, it's a story of redemption and integrity, with Wayne’s character caught between staying loyal to crooked promoters or stepping away to pursue an honest life. The themes of love, obligation, and doing what’s right are worn plainly on its sleeve; there’s little subtlety, but the film doesn’t pretend otherwise.
