How the screenwriters turned this into a strong movie--while assassinating half of the book's plot (Carlos)--might be just as amazing as the book itself. Matt Damon's Bourne is a weapon of efficiency, not emotion, and there's not as much chemistry between him and his abducted lover as Ludlum originally penned in the story. It's action over acting all the way. Side note: this movie is my reason why I don't like to read the book before watching the movie!
