Emmet Otter and his Ma are dirt-poor, but very happy and good singers. But as Christmas is around the corner, both of them want to get something special for each other. And the talent show prize is $50! So, Ma gets a song ready, and Emmet forms a jug-band with his friends. But the Riverbottom Gang, a bunch of rich kids with killer electric band equipment are going to be tough competition.

One of my favorite Christmas specials and I’m saying this is as a diehard Jim Henson fan, the songs are wonderful. The story is beautiful. The characters are charming, and the puppetry is stellar. My only issue with the movie is the fact that Chuck’s gang never get punished for any of their actions and they end up winning the contest near the end of the special I know the lesson was supposed to be that sometimes bad guys do win but the lesson just comes across as you can do all kinds of bad stuff with no consequences and good things what happened to you
But other than that, this movie is so wonderful
