Started out really well, I was excited to see the new concepts they introduced but the movie completely loses steam halfway through. Besides one, all the characters keep changing throughout the movie which leads to an unfocused narrative thread. Instead of the themes being explored further, the movie shifts towards lame action and the messianic cult, which wasn’t very well developed. The CGI is not that great either. The ending is confusing, and the attempts to tie in with the first movie felt cheap. This sequel should’ve done way more world building but it doesn’t succeed at much which is quite disappointing to see since I really enjoyed the first movie.
