Great premise that is hindered by some awfully prolongated scenes that add absolutely nothing to the film. Nicholson is trying to find his inner father and replicate his insane state of mind that is fully on display in The Shining. Sometimes I believe him but those moments are quite rare and you pretty much see most of them in the trailer. There is a lot of "Marvel-type" writing here and trying to create a scene purely out of half-assed whacky facial expressions that I just despise.
BUT there is some fun to be had.
