Me Captain

Io Capitano

Two teenage Senegalese cousins leave home to trek their way to Europe. Their youth and naivete set sights for adventure, but reality sends the boys on a treacherous and dangerous journey traversing the Sahara desert, surviving a Libyan prison, and navigating the Mediterranean Sea. Reminded me a little of J.A. Bayona’s The Impossible especially during the stretch where the boys become separated. The harrowing journey makes for a gripping watch and the lead performance Seydou Sarr is moving. I would have loved an epilogue of some kind or at least one scene post the end of the journey.
