1000 Men and Me: The Bonnie Blue Story

3.7
Adult content creator Bonnie Blue announced that she’d slept with 1057 men in 12 hours. Exploring the polarising debate around Bonnie and the pornification of our society, the film follows her over the most eye-opening six months of her life.
I came across the Bonnie Blue story a little while ago – 1000 men in one year? That’s not my cup of tea, so I’ll be honest: I had no interest in getting involved, one-on-one or one-in-a-thousand. But curiosity got the better of me, and I figured I’d give the documentary a go to try and understand the thought process behind what seemed like a headline-grabbing publicity stunt. To its credit, the film gives Bonnie the space to explain her motivation – sexual freedom, bodily autonomy, breaking taboos, and so on. She’s clearly confident and unapologetic about her choices, and that’s something I can respect even if I don’t agree with the approach. That said, the documentary stops short of asking the harder questions. There’s very little pushback, no real critical lens, and not much exploration of the potential consequences – emotionally, socially, or even just logistically of something like this. It feels more like a promo piece than an actual deep-dive. At times, it comes across as a glossy justification for the project rather than a balanced documentary. Was it enlightening? not really there are vastly better documentry out there of the same subject Entertaining? , in parts maybe but left me wishing i hadnt bothered. Did it change my mind about Bonnie? Not really but at least Ive given her chance to say where she’s coming from now. If you're curious, give it a watch, just don't expect any tough journalism or uncomfortable truths. It plays it safe, despite being built on something that claims to challenge norms.
