Revisit Happy Gilmore's golf career after his win in the Tour Championship.
I just watched Happy Gilmore 2 and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. There is something incredibly special about seeing a story come full circle, and Happy Gilmore 2 does exactly that. From the very first scene, I was pulled back into the offbeat charm and heart that made the original so beloved. It feels like no time has passed, yet the film also manages to stand on its own with fresh jokes, bigger emotional stakes, and a surprising amount of heart. Adam Sandler slips right back into the role of Happy like he never left, and it is both hilarious and deeply satisfying to watch. The movie balances its humor and story beautifully. Every laugh feels earned and never forced, with that classic blend of ridiculous situations and sharp one-liners that made the first film so iconic. But what really surprised me was the emotional depth woven into the story. It is about more than just golf this time. It is about legacy, friendship, and finding your place in life as things change. There are moments that genuinely hit you in the heart, and they make the funny parts even better because you care so much about the characters. The supporting cast is phenomenal. Seeing familiar faces return brought a huge smile to my face, and the new characters add just the right amount of energy. The chemistry between the cast feels effortless, and it makes the story stronger. Christopher McDonald returning as Shooter McGavin is a treat in every way, and his scenes are some of the most entertaining of the film. There is a perfect balance between nostalgia and fresh storytelling, and the film never leans too heavily in either direction. Visually, the movie looks great. The golf courses are stunning, the action sequences are filmed with surprising energy, and the soundtrack is full of fun, fitting choices that make every scene pop. The pacing is excellent too. The story moves quickly but never feels rushed, and every moment matters. What I loved most about Happy Gilmore 2 is how it understands why people loved the first movie. It does not just recycle old jokes or moments. Instead, it builds on what came before while giving you something new. The message about growing older, facing change, and still finding joy in what you love is powerful and relatable. It leaves you smiling long after the credits roll. There is a sincerity to the movie that you do not always see in comedies. It embraces its absurdity, but it also embraces its characters and their journeys. By the end, I felt like I had just spent time with old friends, and that is rare. Happy Gilmore 2 is everything I could have hoped for in a sequel. It is funny, heartfelt, and full of life. Whether you are a fan of the original or seeing Happy for the first time, it is the kind of movie that makes you laugh, makes you feel, and makes you remember why you love movies in the first place.
