Watching this classic for the first time, I found it a bit underwhelming. While I can appreciate its iconic cinematography, striking costume design, and sweeping desert visuals, the story took too long to find its footing. The pacing dragged, and the characters felt pretty one-dimensional—none of them really lived up to the “good” part of the title.
For a film built around gunfights, the action was surprisingly sparse, and when it did happen, it often ended after just a couple of shots. The tension and payoff that Westerns usually deliver just didn’t land for me here. I love Westerns, but this one will probably stay a one-and-done viewing.
