The monster does not come walking often. This time it comes to Conor, and it asks for the one thing Conor cannot bring himself to do. Tell the truth. This is a very touching story about a boy who feels very damaged, guilty and mostly angry. He struggles at school with bullies, and pity looks from everyone, and at home with his mother's sickness. Will Conor overcome his problems? Will everything be okay? Will Conor be able to speak the truth?

A monster disappoints. I think I went into this film a little over hyped. I heard "bring your tissues" and thought maybe I might be due for a man cry. That didn't happen though and I'm a sucker for this type of movie. I was expecting this picture to move me to tears and at the end it was just slightly watery eyes. I cant exactly pinpoint what didn't work in this film. I thought the acting from the kid was great, weaver and jones was good, and Liam Neeson was the best part. Visually this film looked great from the monster to the animated stories. I found the movie having pacing problems didn't help captivate me. I wanted more from the mother son relationship. This is a well crafted film that could of been so much more.
