A nice, concise and tight horror that feels fresh and inventive in comparison to the standard beat of Hollywood jump-scare-ridden sequels and spiritual successors.
Oddity doesn't have a large cast of characters, nor is there a large variance of scene locations, but I believe its budget constraints seemed to work more in its favor than against it. There's just enough context and background to make the driving action effective but not so much where the film ever feels lulling or redundant. It plagues its viewers with long, study, focused instances of terror rather than quick, vapid jump scares. It's stripped down and lean and its ergonomic cast and set of locations only makes it more claustrophobic and unsettling.
