Complete misfire from John Woo, in every sense. Blackjack lacks the finesse, intensity, and emotional weight that defines Woo's best work. Dolph Lundgren is scared of a color... that's the plot. The color white just terrifies and shuts him down. Blackjack is ultimately a dull, lifeless, disappointment. It’s a far cry from Woo's Hong Kong masterpieces and even his Hollywood blockbusters, feeling more like a rough draft than a fully realized film.
