“Angel and the Badman” is a Western that leans into romance and the belief that even a hardened man can change if someone sees the good in him. It has the usual ingredients: gunfights, cattle rustling, and a determined sheriff. But beneath that, it’s a quieter film, more interested in redemption than revenge. It’s not flashy, but it has heart—a tender, soulful story that’s well worth watching if you like John Wayne, and want to see his softer edge.
